Delhi gets light rains, high humidity causes discomfort

Light rains increased humidity level in the national capital causing discomfort to people in the city while more showers are expected tomorrow.
The maximum temperature settled at 30.1 degrees Celsius, five notches below the normal.
The minimum temperature settled at 26.4 degrees Celsius, one notch below the normal and humidity level oscillated between 81 and 97 per cent.
According to the India Meteorological Department, 2.5 mm rainfall was recorded between 8.30 AM and 5.30 PM at Safdarjung observatory while weather stations at Lodhi Road, and Ridge received 2.6 mm and 0.6 mm rainfall respectively.
The MeT official, however, said the weather stations at Ayanagar and Palam, received only traces of rain which could not be measured.
The weatherman has predicted thunderstorm accompanied by rain for tomorrow.
"The skies will be generally cloudy. Thunderstorm with rain are likely to occur at several places tomorrow. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 32 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively," the MeT official said.
Yesterday, the minimum and maximum temperatures were recorded at 29 degrees and 24.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
