Delhi govt builds action plan of Delhi Fire Service

Under the Action Plan, govt has approved opening of fire stations at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar and Vasant Kunj District Centre

To offer prompt services in cases of fire incidents, Delhi government has prepared an Action Plan of Delhi Fire Service (DFS).

"Under the Action Plan, government has approved opening of fire stations at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar and Vasant Kunj District Centre.

"The DFS will ensure works at Dwarka Sector 3 and 20, Jasola and Okhla Fire station soon. It has also been asked to take over land, construction of boundary wall for its training centre," said G L Meena, Special Secretary (Home).

Meena said that DFS will also procure equipment and appliances which are required to provide services in time bound manner, apart from launching media campaigns for fire safety, conducting lectures and demonstrations at 100 locations in the city to spread awareness amongst the people.

DFS will also soon start on-line delivery of fire safety certificates and also will start on-line service for standby duty.

As a part of the action plan, awareness would be created about fire prevention and safety guidelines and training will be imparted to its staff to sensitize them about fire and emergency response and to adopt citizen-friendly procedures.

It will conduct two workshops to impart training to architects and engineers, local building authorities on techno-legal framework for submission of building plans.

Home Department has asked the DFS to actively enforce field inspections and also to establish 'May I Help You' Desk at headquarters.

The DFS has been also asked to ensure uploading of fire reports within 72 hours.
