The proposals for the new projects, which included construction of flyovers, overbridges and elevated roads in a number of areas, were discussed today at a joint meeting of PWD and Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure Planning and Engineering Centre (UTTIPEC).

UTTIPEC is Delhi's nodal traffic and transportation authority whose approval for mega road projects is mandatory.

The meeting presided over by PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chouhan discussed a number of projects including construction of an elevated road on New Rohtak Road from Anand Parbat T-point to Anand Parbat Industrial Area in West Delhi.

It also discussed construction of an underpass near the Peeragarhi flyover on National Highway-10 to ease traffic on the busy Rohtak road, besides building a flyover from Majnu Ka-tila to Metcafe House traffic signal near Wazirabad in north Delhi.

The meeting also deliberated on construction of an elevated road over the Najafgarh drain from Kakraula Mor to Meera Bagh on Outer Ring Road.

Officials said UTTIPEC and PWD would work in tandem to finalise the new projects.

The PWD has already decided to appoint consultants for carrying out feasibility studies for the projects.
