Delhi govt remembers Hardinge bomb case martyrs

The martyrs of the historic 1912 Hardinge bomb case in the national capital were paid homage in a solemn function organised by the Delhi government here today.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal paid floral tributes at the memorial of the martyrs--Master Amir Chand, Bhai Bal Mukund, Master Avadh Bihari and Basant Kumar Biswas--housed in the Maulana Azad Medical College premises (MAMC) here.
Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta, AAP MLA Rajinder Gautam, Chief Secretary K K Sharma and MAMC dean D K Tempe also paid tributes to the martyrs on the occasion.
Kejriwal met the great-grandsons of Amir Chand and recalled his supreme sacrifice.

Devotional songs were presented by vocalists of Gandharv Mahavidyalaya.
Amir Chand, Bhai Bal Mukund and Avadh Bihari were executed on May 8, 1915, while Biswas met the same fate a day later for hurling a bomb at a procession of then Governor-General of India, Lord Hardinge, in Chandni Chowk on December 23, 1912. Lord Hardinge was injured in the incident.
