According to a senior government official, the project is in the initial stage and is being drafted by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUISB).
The proposal aims at making 27,000 flats under Self Financing Scheme (SFS) in Bhalswa and Savda Ghevra area of Mundka in west Delhi.
"We have identified the land, which is owned by the government. Houses will be made as per the provision of DUSIB Act. The project is under active consideration," a senior official at DUSIB confirmed.
According to the proposal, the flats will be accommodated in 14-storey towers with maximum area of 1,000 sq ft.
The proposal will be tabled before the cabinet for further approval.
