The Public Works Department has decided to start tendering process for repair of 155 km of road length next month and actual work on them would begin after the monsoon season, officials said.
Unhappy over the MCD's poor maintenance of roads, the government in December last year had decided to take over 499 streets with a total length of 863 km from it.
The civic agency has already handed over 645 km of road to the Delhi government out of the 863 km stretch.
Officials said the most of the roads will be relayed and PWD will look after their maintenance.
They said the contractors, after completion of relaying work, will have to carry out their maintenance for a period of five years.
