The Chief Minister has directed Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) to immediately begin repair in eight localities.
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the CM and attended by the heads of various departments of Delhi government.
"Delhi government will provide funds for this work and the initial estimate is Rs 10 crore, which will be revised on the basis of the actual estimate," said a senior government official.
The DUSIB has initiated the process of surveying these colonies following directions that the condition of colonies where the families of victims reside is worrying and requires urgent attention.
The AAP government's decision comes at a time when the Aam Aadmi Party is gearing up for Punjab Assembly elections to be held next year.
