The exercise started with the Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia sending a voice message to all the teachers asking them to conduct activities such as summer camps to make regular schooling interesting.
"The government has initiated process of conducting workshops for 24,000 teachers -over the period of one month - would be engaged in a process of creating lesson plans, teaching material and activities to make the curriculum more interesting and engaging," a Delhi Government statement said.
The material would be created by these government school teachers themselves based on their teaching experiences. Launched yesterday across nine venues, the workshop sessions would go on till June 23, in a batch of four days each, the statement said.
"The material development exercise would be through mutual discussions and sharing of ideas among each other. The exercise will involve teachers in collective brainstorming and coming up with the content and transaction process which is interesting for the child," it said.
"The activities during the workshop would be facilitated by the Mentor Teachers (a learning resource group of Delhi Government schools) and Cluster Resource Coordinators under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan," it added.
