Delhi lashed by rains

Waterlogging and traffic jams were reported from some parts of the capital.

Several parts of the capital received showers with Safdurjung MeT station, whose reading is taking as the official figures for the capital, recording 12 mm of rains till 5:30 PM.

The rains, however, failed to bring respite to the denizens from hot and sultry weather conditions.

Aya Nagar area in the capital received the maximum rains with 55 mm followed by Ridge area (43.2 mm), Narela (23 mm) and Palam (12.1 mm).

Waterlogging was reported from some areas like Nehru Place and Chirag Delhi.

Delhi recorded a high of 35.3 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal. The maximum was two degree above from yesterday's 33.2 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature was 28.7 degrees C, which was two degrees above the normal, the MeT department said, humidity level hovered between 87 and 62 per cent.
