Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna today met Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and is believed to have discussed the law and order situation of the city.
Sources said Khanna briefed Shinde about steps being taken in the last few months to improve security of women in the city.
The Lt Governor is the administrative head of Delhi Police.
The sources said Khanna gave a detailed account of measures being taken by police, including at the grass-root level to ensure safety and security of women in the wake of the December 16 gang-rape of a 23-year-old girl.
The police had come under severe attack last month too following the brutal rape of a five-year-old girl.
