Lodhi Road and Ridge observatories recorded 0.3 and 3.4 mm rainfall whereas the observatories at Safdarjung, Ayanagar and Palam did not record any rainfall till 5.30 PM.
According to a senior MeT official, two squalls hit the city. The first one started at 4.07 PM and lasted for a minute ending at 4.08 PM having a wind speed of 56 km per hour while the second was between 4.43-4.45 PM measuring up to 66 km per hour.
The Safdarjung observatory, whose reading is considered as the official figure for the city, recorded the maximum temperature of 41.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal while the minimum temperature settled at 28.4 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, the official said.
MeT office has predicted overcast conditions along with the possibility of light rain for tomorrow.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. There is a likelihood of light rain and thundershowers tomorrow evening and night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 39 and 28 degrees Celsius respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 30.4 degrees Celsius.
