Vigilance cases will be initiated against those who have committed gross irregularities and FIRs will be filed, if required, an official statement said.
The probe, to be completed in 10 days, was ordered by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Imran Hussain following instructions from Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia after prima facie evidence pointed towards a mismatch.
"Vigilance cases will be initiated against those who have committed gross irregularities and FIRs will be filed, if required. The Food and Supplies Department will conduct a door-to-door survey to cross-check the cards," the statement said.
"Following this, a thorough verification of the negative list will be carried out and proper opportunity will be given to NFS card holders for rectification," it said.
