The drive has been launched by the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police during which teams will check all the Children Homes in the national capital.
"The teams will match children's record with the available data of missing/kidnapped children with the police. The scheme has been named Operation Milap. Several teams have been constituted for uniting such children staying in Children Homes," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
Also, local police is being asked to screen and document all the children residing in the shelter homes, railway platforms, bus stands, roads, religious places, etc. Their photographs will be taken by the concerned police officials and documentation will be undertaken to link them properly, he said.
During its first effort on Tuesday, the Crime Branch team checked Bal Adhikar Sashaktikaran Kendra, the Children Home at Prahlad Pur Bangar, Delhi. The team checked the record of children and also spoke to kids at length.
