Delhi police rewards good Samaritan for rescuing child

A woman was rewarded by the police after she rescued a four-year-old girl, who allegedly went missing from a crowded temple in northwest Delhi's Rani Bagh area.
Nirmala saw a weeping child in the premises of a crowded temple in Rani Bagh area yesterday, police said, adding that the good Samaritan took the child home and took good care of her.
According to the complaint filed by the missing girl's parents, they lost the child in the temple where they had gone to attend the 'ashtami' celebrations, police said.
A police team was formed and search operations were conducted in several temples, shopping malls, bus terminals and railway stations in the city.
Meanwhile, Nirmala's brother today informed the police that they had found an abandoned girl yesterday.
The girl was finally united with her parents, police said.
Lauding Nirmala's efforts, the police rewarded her with Rs 10,000.
