Raje, currently on a tour of Delhi visited the iconic building along with PWD minister and senior officials from her government.
By keeping its original design and face, the 'Bikaner House' will showcase Rajasthan's various creative, literary, cultural, art and tourism aspects, and it would be the 'Gateway of Rajasthan', Raje said.
"A number of government offices of Rajasthan located in 'Bikaner House' premises were vacated, and the entire space was taken up for this task," she said.
During the inspection of the mansion, she was accompanied by Public Works Department Minister Yunus Khan, PWD Principal Secretary D B Gupta, Rajasthan Transport Department Secretary and Commissioner Gayatri Rathor, and Resident Commissioner Savita Anand.
Built as part of the plan of the new imperial capital of 'New Delhi', which came up in 1911, after shifting it from Calcutta (now Kolkata), the colonial-era building was built for the then princely state of Bikaner.
