The maximum temperature was five notches above normal and slightly below from yesterday's 45 degree Celsius.
The minimum temperature breached the 30 degree mark today as it settled at 30.8 degree Celsius, three points above normal.
Both these readings were of the Safdarjung observatory, considered to be the official reading for the city.
In Palam, the day temperature settled at 47 degree Celsius today, a day after it registered a scorching 47.2 degree Celsius, the hottest in the last 19 years.
