Delhi Tourism bags two awards

Rated as one of the best tourist friendly destinations, the national capital has been honoured with two most prestigious awards, a Delhi Tourism official said today.
"Delhi Tourism received the prestigious, Tourism for Tomorrow Awards, India announced by World Travel & Tourism Council India Initiative (WTTCII) for Best Destination Leadership Award 2013 last week," he said, adding that, Delhi Tourism chairman Manish Chatrath had received the award on behalf of the state government.
The city also bagged the runner's up trophy for the Favourite Indian City awarded by the Conde Nast Traveller India Magazine at another event.
Delhi Tourism Chief Manager (PR) Sudhir Sobti received it from secretary (Tourism), Government of India Parwez Dewan.
"Delhi has received number of awards in the past one year and it will be a morale booster for the industry," he said.
The WTTCII-HVS Tourism for Tomorrow Awards India recognises the state's policy initiatives, which play an important role to facilitate Tourism.
