"Owing to the full dress rehearsal the entire city will be under heightened security. Barricades and checking will be intensified within the city and at the borders. Citizens are requested to plan their movements accordingly. For hassle-free journey, commuters may avail the services of Delhi Metro," Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Anil Shukla, said.
Major roads around Red Fort area would be closed for general traffic from 5 AM to 9 AM tomorrow.
Vehicles which do not have parking labels may avoid Tilak Marg, Mathura Road, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Subhash Marg, Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg and Ring Road between Nizammuddin Bridge and ISBT bridge and take the route as advised, he said.

Buses terminating at Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Delhi Main Railway station will be diverted, police said, while adding that normal bus services will be restored at 10:00 AM.
Apart from that all goods vehicles will not be permitted between Nizamuddin bridge and Wazirabad bridge from midnight today to 11 AM on August 13.
Inter-state buses will not be allowed between Maharana Pratap ISBT and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT from 5 AM to 9 AM. These buses may use G T Road, Wazirabad Road and NH-24.
Informative signages have been displayed for the guidance of vehicular traffic destined for the Red Fort function at all important traffic junctions, police said.
During the rehearsal and the actual celebrations on August 15, no cameras, binoculars, handbags, briefcases, transistors, cigarette lighters, tiffin boxes, mobile phones, water bottles, lunch boxes, among other items will be permitted, he said.
