Delhiites experience high humidity

Mercury today inched closer to 40 degrees Celsius mark in the national capital, while high humid conditions prevailed making life difficult for people.
The Safdarjung observatory, the reading of which is considered as the official figure for the city recorded a maximum temperature of 39.8 degrees Celsius, a notch below the normal while the minimum temperature settled at 26.6 degrees, normal for this time of the year.
The Palam observatory registered a maximum temperature of 40.8 degrees Celsius, said a Met Department official.
Humidity oscillated between 73 and 39 per cent.
The MeT office has predicted light rains accompanied by dust storm and thunderstorm in night.
"Mainly clear skies, will turn partly cloudy. Light rains accompanied by dust storm and thunderstorm is likely to occur in some areas towards evening and night," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the minimum and maximum temperatures settled below normal levels at 24.7 degrees and 38.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.
