Vinayak Raut of Shiv Sena referred to the Udhampur attack and said fast-track court should be set up to try the terrorist caught alive so that punishment can be given to him at the earliest which could act as a deterrent to others.
"Like in the case of Yakub Memon, it should not take 20 years to try the terrorist who has been caught alive. The punishment should be given at the earliest so that fear is instilled in others who may want to come to India to carry out attacks," he said.
"The country is facing the challenge of cross-border terrorism which is clear from the recent attacks in Gurdaspur and Udhampur," he said.
"The information given by Kasim, the terrorist nabbed during the Udhampur attack, proves the direct involvement of Pakistan. Terrorists infiltrate into India and carry out attacks here. Our soldiers are martyred while preventing such attacks," the member said.
He said that there should be a special campaign at the national level to expose Pakistan's designs and terror camps in Pakistan should be destroyed so that future attacks are prevented.
