In a memorandum to Singh, the Ananthapuri Samagra Vikasana Samithi said considering the threat potential to the temple, where a treasure trove was found in its underground chambers some three years ago, the current security was inadequate.
Its proximity to the porous borders of the state and its location near the sea coast makes it vulnerable to any terror attack and thus it becomes all the more important to provide foolproof security to the temple, it said.
