Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Asha Bhosle, Jaya Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Priyanka Chopra were among others who voiced their anguish over yesterday's attack here.
Shah Rukh feels that the mindset of boys towards girls in our society should be changed to stop such crimes.
"Punishing those responsible for this heinous crime is one part of the deterrent. The second, far greater deterrent is to change our own mindsets.
"To educate our boys in a manner that the respect for women becomes implicit in their natures and they begin to understand that the objectification of women is equally disrespectful to their so called manhood as it is to the women they objectify," tweeted Shah Rukh.

"What have they done and what is their mentality. Justice has to be given quickly and tomorrow. People who are incharge whether they are a minister or police have to given a time bound programme," she said.
Priyanka, who supports many campaigns empowering the girl child, could not hide her anger.
"We have to have a time limit. You cannot wait for eight months. We have to have a time bound law... There are many excuses and we will not tolerate them," she said.
Melody queen Asha Bhosle says that the people involved in the crime should be punished immediately.
Filmmaker Karan Johar feels ashamed of the crime.
"Helpless to say the least... Words like "devastated", "disgusted" mean nothing at a time like this! Gangerape in my city... I feel ashamed," said Johar.
Actress Sonam Kapoor tweeted, "I'm really shocked and taken aback with the recent shameful incident that took place in Mumbai yesterday. A sheer act of cowardice.
