The 23-year-old "The Heart Wants What It Wants" hitmaker said she was happy to see Lovato, 23, grow up to be a success, reported Entertainment Tonight.
"We went to a dinner, I think it was two weeks ago. We were at the dinner, we were talking about her record, my record, just kind of catching up.
"I love her. She's like family at this point. It's just nice to be able to see people that you grew up with succeed," Gomez said.
Before the re-connection, the former Disney stars hadn't been photographed together at a public event since February 2014.
The two BFFs went through a falling out in 2010 before reuniting in January 2014.
