Union Minister of State for Ayush, Shripad Naik, today claimed the demonetisation move has had a positive impact on Goa, saying there is "no word of unhappiness" from people.
"Media in Delhi often ask me what is the impact of demonetisation in Goa. I have noticed and I tell them that the impact has been positive," Naik said while addressing BJP's Vijay Sankalp Rally in Sankhalim town, 45 kms away from here.
Naik said that in Goa, there are no big queues outside the banks creating chaos.
"You will not see the reports about long queues in front of the ATMs or banks due to demonetisation. There's no word of unhappiness from people," the minister said.
"Goans have given 100 per cent support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's move. We are with the Prime Minister in his mission to clean the black money from the country," he added.
Naik said the BJP has been working for social and economic development of the country.
Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, while speaking at the same event, said several opposition leaders have not been able to sleep after the demonetisation.
"Everyone knows who had made wealth at the cost of people. Now, they are having sleepless nights. Several opposition leaders have lost their sleep since November 8," he claimed.
