Members of All India Mahila Congress (AIMC) also staged demonstration at Chanakyapuri here and several were detained when they tried to move towards the Prime Minister's residence, and were released later.
AIMC President, Shobha Oza said the demonetisation move created chaos as the common people were the worst sufferers.
"We demand a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the leak of the demonetisation information to certain people. People have in queues outside banks and ATMs for days together but they are not able to exchange their old notes. It seems. Several people have died standing in queues waiting for their turn to come. Hospitals are turning away patients.
The AIMC also demanded resignation of the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister over the issue.
Delhi Mahila Congress president Barkha Shukla Singh alleged that the government was making tall claims that demonetisation move will thwart corruption while the fact is agents and middlemen were allegedly earning commission.
"Ten days have gone by but the central government is not bothered with the hardships of common people and has done nothing to ease the situation," Singh said.
