Claiming that the Opposition has united in the movement against demonetisation, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said any movement is bound to succeed if people are involved in a massive way.
"If people are taken along in any movement, it is bound to succeed. Public response is always good. People are supporting our movement against demonetisation by the Centre," Banerjee told reporters at the NSCBI Airport here on her return from Delhi.
Confident of massive public support in her movement against demonetisation, Banerjee, who had rushed to Delhi to meet Opposition leaders, to take part in a demonstration and to meet the President, said the Opposition parties have united in the movement against demonetisation.
"All opposition political parties have now understood that the decision by the Centre is causing hardships to common people and inconveniencing their daily lives," she said.
Coming down heavily on Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, the Chief Minister said her movement would gain more strength with the participation of more people and political parties nationwide.
As part of her nationwide movement, Banerjee said she would also address a public rally in Patna later this month.

Earlier in the day, Banerjee, who has been camping in the national capital since yesterday, met President Pranab Mukherjee for a second time in nine days, to register protest over demonetisation.
"Today, I met the honourable President. We had met him earlier (too). We explained him about the critical issue in the country. We told him about the condition of labourers, who are not getting wages, traders who have no money.
"Last month, the salaried class got their salary, but on the first of next month they will not get any money. We can't access the money in our own accounts. Old notes are being accepted at petrol pumps, for civil aviation, but states can't use old money because of which they will suffer losses," she said.
