Demonetisation might have initially caused some inconvenience to people but it was a "decision in national interest which will effectively put the brakes on blackmoney and corruption", he said at a rally in support of BJP candidate Subodh Uniyal at Narendranagar in poll-bound Uttarakhand.
"The Congress found it hard to digest the big success of this decision," the Union Minister said.
If the BJP is voted to power in the state there will be no interviews for group C and D jobs as the provision of interviews for such posts encourages favouritism and corruption, he said.
He alleged that land and liquor mafia called the shots in the Harish Rawat government and the sting operation on the CM bore testimony to it.
Claiming that BJP is running a "fearless" government at the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singh said, "Security forces were giving a befitting reply to Pakistan and surgical strikes were an instance of this. Similar operations will be carried out in future if the need arises."
