Dengue claims life of Nagaland Armed Police jawan

A 26-year-old jawan of the Nagaland Armed Police died of dengue here today, taking the total number of deaths due to the mosquito-borne disease this year to four, according to a weekly report of the MCD.
Moajeba died of dengue shock syndrome, which leads to internal bleeding, at Max Super speciality hospital on August 20.
The deceased was a jawan of the Nagaland Armed Police and had come to Delhi for a special duty, so the case was included in the list of a person who is not a citizen of Delhi, according to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi report.
Of the four deaths reported this year, three were people from outside Delhi.
So far, a total of 6,623 cases of dengue have been reported this year, out of which 3,272 patients belonged to Delhi. Patients from other states who came to the city for treatment numbered 3,351.
The civic bodies weekly report on dengue has listed a total of 752 cases of Chikungunya, including 443 Delhi residents.
A total of 1,082 cases of malaria have also been reported till October 28, the report said.
