'Denying sending emissaries is Modi's political compulsion'

Hardline Hurriyat Conference today said BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's denial of having sent emissaries to its chief Syed Ali Shah Geelani was a "political compulsion" for him.
"Denial by Modi about sending the emissaries to Geelani in Delhi is a political compulsion for him. Two Kashmiri Pandits visited the Malviya Nagar residence of Geelani on March 22 and clearly stated that they had been sent by Modi," Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar claimed in a statement.
Akbar said the "emissaries" were insisting that Geelani sent his representative with them for a meeting with Modi.
The spokesman said enough had been written about the "meeting" and the amalgam would not comment any more on it.

"This was a well-planned attempt to start an unnecessary debate (on Kashmir). Unless India accepts the ground reality about Kashmir, any dialogue process will be a futile exercise," he added.
