The Union Petroleum Ministry had recently told Punjab's department of food and civil supplies that the state's monthly quota of kerosene in the first quarter of the current financial year had been reduced by 63 per cent.
A committee of seventeen members have been formed by the associations of local depot holders to protest against government.
The Amritsar fair price shops association have warned by issuing an ultimatum to the government that if the decision was not taken back they would go on hunger strike from Monday.
The depot holders are already on strike from April 6 by keeping their outlets shut.
In an ultimatum associations have demanded a compensation of Rs 10,000/ per month to each depot holder which was earlier recommend by Punjab Food Supply Minister Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon.
Besides that, shops rent and other service charges have also been demanded by the association.

The strike has also thrown the 'Aata and Dal' scheme of Punjab government out of gear, and beneficiaries are facing trouble as the depot holders have not accepted the wheat supply.
