Suresh Waghmare, Deputy Sarpanch of village Borli in Murud taluka of Raigad, had demanded Rs 5,000 from the villager for issuing him a certificate related to assessment of his house, Additional SP (ACB) Shrinivas Ghadge said.
Waghmare later scaled down his demand to Rs 4,000 to which the villager agreed and simultaneously lodged a complaint with the ACB.
