The CISF has stepped up vigil at Delhi metro stations in the national capital region, carrying out intensive security drills at those which border or fall in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in the wake of violence triggered by rape conviction of self-style godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
"We have intensified our vigil and have enhanced manpower at Delhi Metro stations.
"At certain stations that border or fall in neighbouring Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, the security drills and frisking have been enhanced," CISF Director General (DG) O P Singh told PTI.
He said the force has also "intensified" patrolling by its quick reaction teams (QRTs) in the metro network in order to thwart any untoward activity.
"We are in regular touch with the Delhi Police and the two state police forces and are keeping a close eye on the activities at all the stations," he said.
The DG added the frisking of passengers has been intensified at few stations.
