Desecration of idol causes tension in Muzaffarnagar

An idol of a saint was found desecrated at a temple in Khatoli town in the district following which tension prevailed in the area, police said here.
The matter came to light yesterday when devotees found the desecrated idol and protested against the matter, said Deputy Superintendent of Police M K Mittal.
One Rajender has been arrested in this connection, he said.
As a precautionary measure, security has been tightened in the area.
