Senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia today hit out at the BJP-led governments at the Centre and the state and said that, despite tall claims, rivers in the country continued to remain polluted.

"They make tall claims about cleaning rivers, but whether it is the Ganga, Yamuna, Chambal, Narmada or Kshipra, all of them are still polluted," Scindia, the Congress' chief whip in the Lok Sabha, told reporters here.

He was speaking after performing puja at the famous Mahakaleshwar Temple along with his wife and son.

"People are fed up of their hollow promises and their anger is reflected on the roads," Scindia, the party's MP poll campaign committee chairman, said.

He claimed that post offices that were renovated during his tenure as Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology continued to remain well-kept even today.

Answering a question, he said that all Congress leaders were working unitedly in Madhya Pradesh and claimed that the party would win the Assembly polls slated for later this year.

A Congress leader informed that Scindia personally telephoned him (Guddu) and invited him to take part in the rally.
