Addressing a press conference, Munda said to empower villages Chief Minister Raghubar Das would inaguarate a two-day Gram Sabha at Liitipara panchayat in Pakur district. "We have got an opportunity to realize the dreams of our ancestors and we will empower and develop our villages and place them in the tourism map of India. Villages of Jharkhand have much tourism-worthy spots and government of Jharkhand is all set to develop them," Munda, who also holds Panchayat Raj, Rural Works, NREP (Special Division) department, said.
The state-wide 'gram sabhas' would be organised from October 19 to 31 and during this period villagers will participate and plan long-term development schemes, the minister said.
Munda added that the villagers would discuss and plan for agriculture, land development, minor irrigation, animal husbandry, Health and Nutrition, education & skill development, Forests and Environment, Energy & non-conventional energy source, food security, Social Security pension, housing and infrastructure, Women and Child Welfare and other social Issues during the two-day deliberations.
Munda said after collecting priority list of gram sabhas, the state would plan development schemes for Panchayats by November 3.
