Development remains Modi Government's sole agenda: Venkaiah

Stating that development is Narendra Modi Government's lone agenda, Union Minister and BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today said those attacking it in the name of "intolerance" were actually hurting the image of the country.
"Those attacking the NDA Government in the name of "intolerance" are actually hurting the image and standing of the country," he said here.
Speaking at a foundation stone laying ceremony for a fly-over, Naidu attacked Congress over some important events of the past.
Recalling the imposition of Emergency (1975-77) in the country and massacre of Sikhs in Delhi in 1984, the former BJP President said those who were at the helm of affairs then, are now preaching morals.

Naidu said India is among the most-talked about countries on the global arena as it is making rapid economic progress at a time when many nations are facing crisis.

"The entire world is now looking towards India which is moving fast towards growth when many countries are facing economic crisis."
Despite this, Opposition parties are attempting to damage the country's reputation by creating misconceptions about the Government among the people and also indulging in divisive politics, the Union Minister said.
He said the NDA Government is committed to fulfil all its election promises, but this will take time. The Centre will also honour all promises made to Andhra Pradesh in the Reorganisation Act last year.
A number of national institutions have sanctioned for Andhra Pradesh and some are in the pipeline, he said.
Naidu said his Urban Development Ministry will build 1,93,000 houses in Andhra Pradesh. The Ministry has sanctioned Rs 480 crore to improve the drainage system in Vijayawada and another Rs 500 crore for Guntur.
He said foundation stone for an AIIMS-like institute will be laid at Mangalagiri near here on December 19.
