"Getting justice to the victims of co-operative fraud is akin to service of the society. To investigate scam in this sector, first one should prepare a roadmap, should have the thorough knowledge of how it was committed and lastly, patience," Singh said inaugurating a three-day long seminar on Co-operative Frauds.
The DGP said that in such investigations police should take the assistance of banking and co-operative society sector experts.
Earlier, the Special Director General of Police (DGP), B Maria Kumar said that the seminar was organized to make the officials more sensitive towards these frauds. It has affected the country's economy in a major way.
"Criminals were using latest technology to their advantage and we have to upgrade our expertise to check crimes of this nature," he said.
On the occasion, Additional Director General of Police, Purshottam Sharma informed that till March 2015, 125 cases related to co-operative fraud were pending in the state but the pendency was reduced to half due to the sustained efforts made in this direction.
