As part of the Thai poosam festivities, a devotee today performed 'Sarba Kavadi' (carrying glass box with a live snake tied to a semi circular frame) at the Lord Murugan temple here.
According to temple priest Ganesan, a snake comes every year to the sanctum sanctorum and settles itself in a glass box left there. This year a wheatish colour Cobra was found in the glass box, he added.
A devotee, Uchi Makali, performed the kavadi and released the snake at the sea shore.
As part ten-day festivities, which conclude tomorrow, devotees perform different types of kavadis including 'Mayil' Kavadi.
