All 45,000 already electrified Dhanies (hamlets) in the state will start getting electricity supply on rural domestic mode within next six months as the work of installation of the special designed transformers for this purpose will be completed by that time.
The present schedule of supply to villages for domestic purpose is 14 hours a day, Principal Secretary (Power) and Chairman Haryana Power Utilities Devender Singh said here today.
He said to give power supply to Dhanies in fields connected to agriculture feeders, a new system of power supply has been evolved by designing a special transformer.
Singh said in this new system of power supply, a transformer of new technology (called as Specially Designed Transformer) is set up at the starting point of the feeder that allows only one phase power supply.
During the schedule of power supply for agriculture purpose, three phase electricity can be supplied in the feeder through the existing system with which the agricultural tube wells can be operated.
However for rest of the time, one phase supply can be run in the feeder for domestic purposes by operating the transformer of the new technology.

Thus by setting up a specially designed transformer, a consumer connected to an agricultural feeder can use three phase supply for eight hours (the present schedule for agriculture sector) and single phase power supply for rest of the time.
Singh said that one specially designed transformer costs around only Rs four lakh and there are about 2,800 agricultural feeders in the state to which 45,000 Dhanies are connected.
Total cost to be incurred on laying this system will be borne by the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam or the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam.
Earlier, the consumers in electrified Dhanies in the state were required to pay half of the estimated expenditure to be incurred on construction of needed additional distribution system for connecting to nearby domestic feeder.
