BJP in Kerala today termed as "unconstitutional" the dharna by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his cabinet colleagues in front of the Reserve Bank of India here, which, they claimed, has hit the bank's functioning.
LDF should withdraw from the dharna which has adversely impacted the state's financial sector. It also goes against a Kerala High Court ruling that protests and hartals should not hinder the movement of people and vehicles, state BJP chief Kummanam Rajasekharan said.
"Today's agitation under the leadership of the chief minister shows the collapse of the rule of law," he claimed.
Vijayan, along with his ministers, sat on a dharna in front of the RBI office here protesting the Centre's move to "destroy the cooperative sector" in the state under the cover of demonetisation process and also took pot shots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP alleged that a huge amount of 'black money' is deposited in the cooperative sector in the state and urged the Centre to verify those.
"An estimated Rs 30,000 crore in black money has been deposited in the cooperative banks in the state. The depositors include politicians, real estate mafias, hawala dealers and terrorists," the party leaders alleged.
