Dhawan didn't take to the field today and also could not open in India's second innings.
Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that Dhawan "may not" play in the final Test due to the injury he sustained on his left hand while fielding on the fourth day yesterday.
"Shikhar may not play in the final Test. You will soon get to know the official confirmation," Dhoni told reporters at the post-match press conference here.
Dhawan reached the three-figure mark off a mere 85 balls, surpassing the previous record held by West Indian Dwayne Smith.
