The underground outfit Dima Halam Daogah (DHD) Pranab Nunisa faction today disbanded with its 691 cadre, including 37 women, joining the national mainstream at its 'Home Coming' ceremony here.
Assam Power Minister Pradyut Bordoloi welcomed the cadre to the mainstream at the public ceremony organised by the DHD(N) at the District Sports Association's ground.
Bordoloi said the DHD members' decision to lead a peaceful life by joining the national mainstream signalled the dawn of development in the Dima Hasao district and the state.
DHD (N) chairman Dilip Nunisa appealed to the people of the district to welcome the cadre to their fold as responsible members of society to lead a peaceful life.
The cadres deposited 135 assorted weapons, including AK series assault rifles, and 4408 ammunition at the function attended also by Transport Minister Chandan Brahma, Union Deputy Secretary Home A Kanuja, Additional Director General of police Khagen Sarma.
The Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) was signed between the outfit and Central as well as state Governments on October 8 last year in New Delhi.

The DHD, an offshoot of the Dimasa National Security Force after it ceased operations, was formed in 1994.
Refusing to surrender, its 'commander-in-chief' Jewel Gorlosa launched the DHD (J) also known as Black Widow in 1996 to create a 'Dimaraji or 'Dimasaland' for the ethnic Dimasa people in North Cachar Hills now called Dima Hasao district.
However, its Chairman Pranab Nunisa ousted founder Jewel Garlossa and took over charge of the banned underground organisation on June 24, 2004.
