Dhumal laid the foundation stone of Rs 11.24 crore Tanbol-Jagatkhana Lift Irrigation Scheme which would cater to irrigation needs of about 292.44 hectare land and also launched the Rs 7.65 crore augmented Lift Water Supply Scheme (ALWSS) that will benefit a population of 22 panchayats in Sri Nainadevi area.

Addressing a series of public meetings, Dhumal lashed out at the previous government for neglecting Sri Nainadevi area and said that the BJP government had launched several mega schemes for people's benefit like Deen Dayal Kisan-Bagwan Samridhi Yojana, Doodh Ganga Yojana and Organic Agriculture Project with outlay of about Rs 1000 crore.

Dhumal said the government had provided 80 per cent subsidy to farmers on polyhouses which had brought a silent revolution in rural economy and raised the procurement price of milk from Rs 10 to Rs 18 per litre.

More than 1.70 lakh polyhouses have been set up within a period of less than three years leading to manifold increase in farmers' income, Dhumal said.

Referring to government's efforts to protect employee interests, the Chief Minister said financial benefits worth Rs 75,000 crore had been given to them while daily wages of the workers had been revised from Rs 75 in 2008 to Rs 150 in August 2012.
