The three-day conclave will be organised by Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society of India (OSSI) under the aegis of International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO).
It will be inaugurated by Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and his Goa counterpart Manohar Parrikar, a statement issued here said.
Obesity in the last decade has witnessed widespread prevalence through all the socio-economic layers of the population.
Maharashtra is the only state government to announce Obesity as a disease and setup a task force to create awareness amongst people, the release said.

"I am very optimistic about the outcome of this Congress as experienced as well as young practitioners will get an opportunity to further sharpen their skills to fight the new age menace of diabesity," she said.
The conference will see participation of globally renowned surgeons and diabesity related practitioners amongst other delegates from 18 countries.
The IFSO-APC will offer an international view on various treatments for obesity and diabetes and addressing all the advancements and challenges in the field.
The key objective of the conference is to set a benchmark in the field of diabesity which is one of the most worrisome challenges of healthcare.
