The 23-year-old songstress rejected the idea of being accompanied by her friends Cara Delevingne, Hailee Steinfeld, Gigi Hadid and the 'Bad Blood' hitmaker on stage, because she doesn't want her association with celebrity pals to detract from her as a musician, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Gomez spoke about Swift's "The 1989 Tour", which saw her and Lisa Kudrow emerge on stage during her LA performance for a duet.
"I've worked for my whole career, and I've always wanted it to be about that. I've been in so many situations where it's like, 'Oh, you're friends with this person? You're with that person?' All this credibility thing that drives me crazy.
The "Hands To Myself" hitmaker, however, said she does enjoy collaborating with other artists, although her solo career is her main priority for now.
