Villagers of Sandil and Savitri Nagar alleged that they have also been denied pensions meant for such people.
Alleging the non-cooperation on the part of bank employees, they met Deputy Commissioner Ajit Balaji Joshi and requested him to direct the bank officials concerned to open the accounts in the banks of their villages.
Residents of Punjabi Dharamshala in Savitri Nagar alleged that bank representatives cited lack of guidelines and refused to open accounts for differently-abled people who could not visit them.
The persons, even eligible for pensions, were denied that, they charged.
After meeting them, the DC spoke to the authorities concerned and said their accounts would be opened and it would be operated by their guardians.
