Digital literacy week from February 21

: 'One Library Per Village', a state based organisation, has partnered NASSCOM Foundation to organize a Digital Literacy Week (DLW) from February 21.
During this period, two village Libraries, Dr. B R Ambedhakhar Library at Kakkathanam ,Vilangara and Thrikkannamangal Public Library, Kottarakara in the district will have a special free training session, according to National Digital Literacy Mission ('NDLM') curriculum.
Candidates above 14 years who have Aadhar card can attend this free session.
Training is for 10 hours and includes various online activities like e-mail, social networking , online banking, basic ecommerce activities, government services, passport and pancard, a release said here today.
Sujai G Pillai of the organisation said "These two Libraries will enable digital literacy as well as facilitate the use of digitally enabled services."
The National Digital Literacy Mission with a vision to empower at least one person per household with digital literacy skills by 2020, is expected to touch the lives of more than 250 million individuals over the next few years.
The project aims at helping adults with low technological literacy develop the skills they need to interact in an increasingly digital world, thereby increasing the opportunity for development and economic viability.
