A renovated and modern district consumer disputes redressal forum was inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit at the inter-state bus terminus at Kashmeri Gate here today.
Inaugurating the forum, Dikshit said the city government was providing transparent and clean administration through e-governance and modern techniques and also helping in removing middle men in various offices.
"Delhi is a large and sensitive city. The city government has been concentrating on ensuring awareness on consumers' rights," she said.
The government's Department of Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs is on a renovation spree and has renovated 33 out of its 70 circle offices, apart from district consumer disputes redressal fora.
The government had established 10 District Consumer Dispute Redressal Fora to look into the complaints filed by consumers.
