The BJP central leadership had yesterday announced the appointment of Ghosh as its new state president, replacing Rahul Sinha whose term had ended.
Ghosh is an old RSS hand and was a state BJP general secretary after joining the party some time back.
The development puts an end to months of speculation as to who will be the new president, or whether Sinha will be asked to continue till the poll is over.
Some leaders were also demanding a change in leadership on the ground that the party was steadily losing its support after putting up a strong show in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Ghosh said, "My first priority is to consolidate the party's organisational structure to fight against the Trinamool Congress, Congress and CPI(M). We will work together to strengthen the party and present before our political opponents a solid block."
Ghosh is confident that all protest-programmes against Saradha scam and other chit funds related issues would continue all over the state.
