Features of the portal include GIS maps showing industrial infrastructure and presence of raw materials. It acts as a support tool to investors and policy makers.
The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), under the ministry, conducted the awareness programme at Naya Raipur in Chhattisgarh yesterday.
"Over 2,800 clusters have been mapped with over 5.25 lakh hectare land. Various central government departments and states are continuing to enter data on the system. As the database gets enriched, the portal will serve as valuable decision support tool to investors and policy makers alike," the ministry said in a statement.
